FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University athletic department will partner with the University's LGBTQ+ Resources Center to host the annual Athletics Pride Game on Saturday during the softball team's 12 p.m. contest vs. Siena.

In addition, the first pitch will be thrown out by the winner of this year's George Mason Athletics Impact Equality Award.

The game also will feature performances by the renowned George Mason Green Machine, as well as music celebrating inclusion and the LGBTQ+ community.

Throughout the game on the softball complex concourse, the George Mason LGBTQ+ Resources Center will be available with information on the George Mason 2022 Pride Week, as well as inclusion initiatives provided by the center.

Admission to the game is free for all fans.

About The Mason Athletics Pride Game: The George Mason University athletic department and the Mason LGBTQ+ Resources Office joined forces to host the first annual George Mason University Pride Game in 2019. That women's lacrosse event laid the foundation for a strong partnership in which the two departments meet regularly throughout the year to craft policy and plan the annual Pride Game. Previous games have featured men's volleyball (2020) and women's soccer (2021).
